“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)kjv
Do you know that we were bought at a price? When sin entered man, he began to do his own will, and the wage he received was death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”kjv (Romans 6:23)
But God’s purpose for man has never changed. When Jesus Christ came to redeem mankind, he brought with him a new hope.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”(Romans 3:23)kjv
Jesus Christ came as a sacrifice, shedding his blood to free man from the bondages of sin.
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)kjv
Jesus Christ took on human form, forsaking heavenly glory to redeem man from sin; the price he paid was his life, which he sacrificed for us and died on the cross in agony.
The price he paid was so value that we now have hope thanks to the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. When we receive salvation, we embark on a new way of life with him.
When Jesus Christ enters our lives, our bodies become the temple, and he abides in them. We must make certain that no sin enters our lives.
